Jennifer Hudson shines as Aretha Franklin in biopic. J-Hud steps into the role of the Queen of Soul for her next big screen adventure ‘RESPECT.’ The Oscar and Grammy winner was handpicked by the legend to play her prior to her passing in 2018. ‘Respect’ is set for release in 2020, the highly anticipated biopic chronicles the rise of Aretha’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her worldwide superstardom. Ahead of its release, watch the first teaser trailer for the flick which also co-stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, and Mary J. Blige.
