Robert Townsend’s ‘The Five Heartbeats‘ is heading for Broadway. The 1991 movie that was written, directed and starred Robert Townsend is the story for a musical group from the Motown era and their road to success. Robert says he’s working with Kennan Ivory Wayans, who also co-wrote the movie ‘The Five Heartbeats.
