Mary J. Blige Is Double Oscar Nominee

The 90th Academy Awards were announced today with Girls Trip actress Tiffany Haddish and Andy Serkis. And social media is freaking out over R&B singer Mary J. Blige being a double nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mudbound and Best Original Song for ‘Might River”. Also becoming the first woman to receive the honor for a role directed by an African-American woman. Octavia Spencer nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her round in ‘The Shape of Water and for Best Actor Denzel Washington for and Daniel Kaluuya for ‘Get Out’. First-time filmmaker Jordan Peele made the cut for producing, directing, and writing the horror hit Get Out — becoming only the third person to pull off that feat.
