According to sources within ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers are in the final stages of completing a trade that will send star wide receiver George Pickens to Dallas in exchange for draft pick compensation. The deal is expected to be finalized today, marking a significant move for a Cowboys team looking to bolster its playoff hopes.

Pickens, a second-round pick out of Georgia in the 2022 NFL Draft, has quickly proven himself to be one of the league’s brightest young talents. Over the course of his career, the 24-year-old wideout has amassed 174 receptions for 2,841 yards and 12 touchdowns while averaging an electrifying 16.3 yards per catch. His ability to make plays deep downfield, paired with his size and athleticism, makes him a potential game-changer for any offense.

This trade fills a glaring need in Dallas’ receiving corps. Following the departure of veteran wide receiver Brandin Cooks, the Cowboys were left searching for a strong complement to CeeDee Lamb, their top offensive weapon. Enter Pickens, who has all the tools to thrive alongside Lamb. At 6’3″, Pickens offers a versatile receiving option who can win on jump balls, create separation on the perimeter, and extend drives in clutch moments.

For Dak Prescott, the addition of Pickens checks a big box in terms of offensive weapons. The young receiver’s knack for big plays converts Dallas’ air attack into a more balanced and potent threat. Opposing defenses will now face greater challenges scheming against a reinvigorated passing game, particularly as Dallas enters the season with Super Bowl aspirations.
